(Fitness baseline shots on 7/14/13)
Good Monday everyone~~!
Finally, I am ready for a new start after 5 weeks traveling and vacation.
My current workout goal is to do some catch-up. I’ve resumed my dancing/barre classes for a week before I hit back the gym floor.
The main reason is that I want to restart slowly so I can gauge my strength without injury.
As most people eager to move again FAST after a long break from gym. It’s common for us to overestimate our fitness level when starting or restarting a training routine.
Rather than assuming my ability is the same as it used to be, start slowly is always better than moving too fast.
Warm up with a week of Pilates, barre, and yoga before starting weight training. Choose a lighter barbell off the rack for my first few deadlifts.
The good news is that based on my previous experience, it probably won’t take long to bounce back to my prior fitness level.
A slow start definitely beats fatigue, excessive muscle soreness, and injury!
Are you ready? Let’s workout together! 🙂
