Sensoji, the oldest temple in Tokyo said to have been built in 628.

It is famous for its main Kaminari-mon Gate (Thunder Gate), where a giant lantern hangs.

A shopping street of over 200 meters, called Nakamise, leads from the outer gate to the temple’s second gate, the Hozomon.

Alongside typical Japanese souvenirs such as yukata and folding fans, various traditional local snacks from the Asakusa area are sold along the Nakamise. The shopping street has a history of several centuries!

Visiting Sensoji during a rainy day was different and fun: there are so many colorful umbrellas mixing in the foggy smoky temple, it’s like a romantic movie scene in my eyes~~! 🙂

As I mentioned in my earlier post, this cornflower blue floral pencil skirt from Zara was the only piece of clothes that I scored during my Japan trip. I love its color and the floral print, it presents the oriental accent in a very elegant way!

Of course, I paired the ZARA skirt with my beloved Trouve jacket, which pretty much matches with all kinds of outfits that I packed for this trip!

Now living in Southern California’s dry heat, looking at all my pictures taken in the nice summer rain makes me missing Tokyo and Kyoto already…
