For fitness tips, I’d like to share a few keys about why “overtrained” is bad!
Fitness = Positive adaptation in response to the stress of strength training
Fatigue = Things like recoverability, muscle damage, etc.
Overreaching = Our body accumulating fatigue faster than fitness
When we overreach, the fatigue overrides or eclipses the fitness, thus hiding our strength. Taking either a full break or a “deload” can let some fatigue dissipate.
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you aren’t working hard enough. A lot of people do this and they’ll push and push until form breaks leading to injuries or they go beyond overreaching.
Beyond overreached = Overtrained = Bad
