If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know that I’m a mom of two kids aged 10 and 13, and I work in the corporate world—so like many working moms out there, you can imagine that I juggle a lot on a daily basis. Staying active and also mindful are big priorities when it comes to being present with my kids and having enough energy to move through my day.
Because my days are so hectic, I’m always in search of good-looking, go-to yoga gear that works for the studio and in the real world. I was excited when Athleta challenged me to put a couple of their adorable Chaturanga Capris to the test for a part of my average weekly routine as a busy mom.
Super early mornings before my kids wake up are my favorite (and oftentimes only) time to nourish my heart and mind. It’s important to find some time that’s just for me. Whether it’s something as simple as going for a walk to get a coffee or a few minutes of meditation, I like beginning my day by setting a positive intention. That said, LA is famously known as the land where the sun always shines, but what’s less commonly known is that mornings can be a bit chilly. That’s why I paired the Bloom Chaturanga Capri with the Odyssey Wrap, a look that was cute enough to rock the rest of the day without screaming “I just rolled out of bed!” My alias is FitFabFun Mom, after all. 🙂
Power yoga is such an important aspect of my active lifestyle. I love to challenge my body to an instructed and safe, yet intense workout experience. The practice really helps open my body, build flexibility and train my mind to stay peaceful. I feel wonderful afterwards! Whether I’m on top of a mountain, in my living room or at the studio, my ideal yoga outfit should feel like a second skin. Pants or leggings should be form-fitting to allow my instructor to watch and correct my poses, but my movements should never be restricted by what I’m wearing.
Also, power yoga specifically causes me to sweat a lot more during my practice, so the ultra-ventilated Mesh Energize Tank (with bra built in!) along with the lightweight, breathable fabric of the Stripes Chaturanga Capri was perfect for wicking away moisture and staying totally breathable. In spite of all the twists and bends, the wide waistband didn’t roll down and there were no chafing issues. The bonus was the sneaky little pocket in the waistband where I could stash my car key for a quick hilltop meditation/yoga session. Thoughtful!
What’s your favorite from the Fit 6 collection of pants? Love to hear!
Enjoy your beautiful weekend everyone!
